Antilles for you

Happy Monday everyone!

I had a chance to play around yesterday with some of the Tim Holtz distress oxide inks.  I love that you can keep adding inks to your paper and they don't get muddy (of course you need to heat set between each colour).  This was the end result of my first piece.

I started with a piece of canson watercolour paper.  I smooshed the spiced marmalade onto my silicone mat, spritzed with some water, the put the paper to the ink, moved the paper around and added some more ink, then heat set.  I continued to do this with worn lipstick and fired brick.
I then took a stencil and laid it on top of my ink piece, spritzed water, let it set for a bit, then took a paper towel and laid it over top hoping to soak up the water and remove some of the ink.  Well it did just that but not very well.  You can see some lines of the vines but not very clearly.  But, hey that's okay it still gave the background a bit of texture.  I then splattered some watered down fired brick and flicked the paint brush.  I think I might of added too much water because when the droplets dried you can hardly see them.  I also flicked a bit of white paint, that too is kind of pale.

I then cut out the Antilles floral border using white c/s and adhered to my inked piece.

I embossed the sentiment from Penny Black - snippets onto some black card stock using white embossing powder.  I cut it out using Simon Says stitched flag stax die.

To finish off I added both yellow and orange rhinestones in the centers of the flowers.

Supplies:
stamp - Penny Black - snippets
ink - Tim Holtz distress oxide inks - spiced marmalade, fired brick & worn lipstick.
paper - canson watercolour 140 lb, cougar white, black, shimmer bazzill in burnt orange
die - Simon says - stitched flag stax, Memory Box - antilles floral border
misc - rhinestones, white embossing powder, versamagic

Thanks for your visit, greatly appreciated.  See you soon,

Pauline

Cosmobella 2.0

Good morning.  Hope your day is off to a wonderful start.  It's a beautiful summer day here in SW Ontario, no humidity today as was yesterday!

My daughter had asked me one evening last week if I had a birthday card for one of her co-workers (which she needed for the next day - nothing like thinking ahead - lol). Of course I had some 'flowery' cards already made, but that wasn't what she had in mind.  She asked me if I had some 'bella' girls and of course none done, so I pulled out some easier ones to colour, and gave her a choice of a couple of images (such a nice Mom eh?).  Karen picked Cosmobella 2.0.

I'm also using this card to enter into this weeks challenge over at Bloggabella.  By the inspiration piece Emily showed, I think these colours work!

I stamped her on cougar 100 lb white card stock using black memento and then coloured using copics.
Sorry didn't keep a list of colours, was in a hurry just to get this done.  Used prisma colour pencils for the ground area.  Found some scrap paper in my scrap bin to use for accent.

The sentiment was stamped using black versafine ink  then cut out using one of the flag dies from MFT die-namics blueprints #27.  I then layered this onto a piece of black card stock and trimmed around it.

To finish off I added some enamel dots.  I also used my Nuvo clear glitter pen and added sparkle to her white t-shirt - so pretty.

Well that's it for today folks, I wish you all a wonderful happy day! See you soon,

Pauline

Bridal shower

Hello everyone.  TGIF - and even better I'm off until Tuesday! Yay!!!!

It's a very warm one here today,  hot and humid, it's already 93F and suppose to go over 100 this afternoon.

I had a request from my boss for a wedding shower card, and this is what I came up with.
I loved the outcome I ended up making another one for a spare.

Not a lot of stamping, actually no stamping at all.  The dress was embossed using an embossing folder from Darice. I then cut a white frame from MFT stitched rectangle frame (largest die).  The pink  was cut down to size to fit in behind.

The silver embossed paper behind is from Kaisercraft - The lake house. I then layered it onto a piece of MFT pink lemonade, then onto my card base which is dark grey bazzill.

Then the fun begins.  Me and all my fussiness with flowers, pearls, glittered tiny rhinestones & ribbon. After it was all together, I used Nuvo Aqua shimmer clear pen to add sparkle to the flowers, and boy do they shimmer.  It is so pretty in real.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Stay cool!

Harvest berries

Good morning.  Just here for a quick post today.

Today's card is a sympathy card.  Sad to say, but I always seem to run out of them.  I used Papertrey Ink stamps for this - Harvest Berries.

I started by stamping the script (PTI - background basics : text style) along the bottom of my top piece in PTI Limeade ice.  I then stamped the vines in limeade ice & lavender moon inks.  I added the berries using scarlet jewel ink. I used one of the smaller dot stamps and randomly stamped them in limeade ice.  Sentiment is stamped using black versafine.

I used my corner rounder to round the top right corner.  Used some scrap dp for a strip along the left side of my card base and a piece of gold washi tape on top.  I was going to pop the top layer up with some craft foam, but decided to keep it flat - easy for mailing.

Thanks for stopping by, wishing you a wonderful day!

Wedding # 4

Well here we are once again, at the end of another week.  Boy, is it hot here, temps up in the mid 30's but feels like 41C and very muggy. It's not even enjoyable to be outside.

I have another wedding card to share with you today.

For the lacey edging I used Martha Stewarts large punch.  I then layered a piece of Memory Box paper between the punched areas, then ran a strip of Little B's washi tape.  This one has the word 'love' in different fonts through out - perfect for my card :). The centerpiece is a die from Marianne Design.  There is no name on the pkg, but it is # LR0116.

The sentiment is from PTI - I stamped it in black versafine.  Die cut some Justrite leaves, then added some flowers, pearls and a little wooden heart, which I painted a coat of clear wink of stella glitter for some sparkle, as well as the ends of the flowers.

Thanks for your visit today, have a wonderful weekend. See you soon,

Pauline

Flower Cascade

Hello there!

Just got back from my early morning walk.  It's a beautiful day, sun just over the horizon, air is cool, no humidity, and temperatures to reach mid 80's.  A perfect summer day (but mid 70's is more to my liking - just saying!)

Today's card is one I made a few months ago.  Yes I'm holding out on you guys - lol!  Stamp used is from Penny Black - flower cascade.

I embossed the image onto some white 100 lb card stock using white embossing powder.  I then coloured the image using Zig Clean colour markers.  I scribbled the markers onto my craft mat then picked up the colours using my watercolour brush. Because this wasn't watercolour paper I tried not to use too much water.

Once dried, I then cut it out using MFT - die-namics blueprints #27, the large scallop die.  Then layered onto a piece of purple c/s, added some yellow gingham ribbon in the bottom right corner, then white silk ribbon tied in the center for a bow.

To finish off I used some Nuvo jewel  drops in pale periwinkle around the bouquet in various sizes of droplets.

Whatever you day has in store for you, enjoy!  See you again real soon,

Pauline
